Find Time For Your Passion
If you are working as a regular employee on a payroll, good for you; you have the security of making money to pay your bills on a regular basis.
However, since you are essentially being paid for the time you spend making your boss richer, I hope you aren’t forgetting to make time for your passions.
Hello everyone, my name is Alek, and I work as a Producer.
In my experience within the advertising industry, I was trained to handle various types of projects, each with different requirements depending on the objectives, target market, and budget. I’m happy to say that my industry never bores me; I enjoy the ‘newness’ of every task and love the challenge. As a producer, I see my role primarily as a solution provider.
Working on a project basis is sustainable for me. Securing one or two projects with a 2-to-3-day shoot is often enough to cover two months of bills. I seldom have trouble finding work because opportunities always seem to find me.
This lifestyle allows me to rest when I need to and enjoy my time once I meet my financial quota. With this freedom, I can feed my passions and discover what I truly love to do. It gives me a unique vantage point to work on my own business. When I’m not working for clients, I’m in my element building my own ventures and networking with potential partners.
I’ve begun to notice that many people in routine jobs are blinded by repetitive daily tasks. Sometimes, that grind makes you forget who you really want to be.
Sometimes, taking a break actually makes you richer because that is when the best opportunities arise. Having time in your hands gives you the freedom to explore where you can be at your best. That is my message: while you are making your boss richer, I hope you find time for yourself and your passions.
If your boss is making you rich, then great! But if you feel like you’re just running in circles, pause for a bit and listen to yourself.
